Part 2 summary Part 2 of the book starts with Father Julliard. Father Julliard talks about Pascal Aguila. Pascal Aguila was the lawyer and he was the freedom fighter. It means he fought for the poor people. Pascal Aguila exposed senators stealing money but he was possibly killed by the police. Also, in chapter one, Raphael, Gardo and Rat researched about Jose Angelico and they had some information about him. In chapter 2, Raphael is taken by the police. As we know, police beat Raphael so badly and police were going to kill Raphael by putting him to the window. After all, because of Raphael’s determined he kept the secret until the end and he survived. He never gave up. In chapter 3, Raphael researched about the Jose Angelico, he was free from the jail but he was killed by police because Jose Angelico stole the money from vice president and sadly he had a daughter left alone from him. As you see, we are starting to see the links between Jose Angelico and Pascal Aguila. The examples are they both fought for poor, they were poor when they were young, both killed by the police and they both involved with the government. The last thing I want to mention is, Raphael and Pascal Aguila, they both fight for the justice. This chapter is important because we learned about that the stories are getting some clues. We know how Jose Angelico and Pascal Aguila killed and what things they did, also, we know the violence of police. In chapter 2, the action increases with using the descriptive words and using the fast action. The author creates fast action by using many action words in one sentence. For example, he slapped and kicked me and I was knocked to the floor. Also, he uses lots of descriptive words and it makes the story more interesting. We learned that Raphael is determined like he kept the secret. Raphael is not selfish and thinks deeply because he cares about his friends and aunt so that’s why he kept the secret until the end even though police kept beaten him up. Also, we know that Raphael is solving the problem about the Jose Angelico and he has lots of information about him in his brain. Andy Mulligan creates suspense by building up the story about police corruption, like in part 2, Raphael so hardly beaten up by the police until his face gets all bloody. Before, in another chapter, Andy Mulligan gave us the stories that were connected to the police, so he made us to have some ideas about the main story. Jose Angelico is the one who has a similarity with Pascal Aguila. Like I said, Jose Angelico was killed by the police and he stole money from vice president. He is thirty three years old man and he is a house boy, also, he is a good man. One of the themes in part 2 of trash is police’s violence. One of the examples is “I was lifted up and they were carrying me to the windows. (pg.63)”. This means that police were tried to kill Raphael by throwing him towards the window. Another example of police’s violence is “I don’t know where he hit me or what with, but I was knocked to the floor (pg.61).” This means that the police don’t care about the kid and they just beat and slap the kid. No cares. They never think about the kid and they’re just crazy about getting the answer. This is my summary Min joo kim 7K

I EDIT IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA ;D Maybe this is my final!? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 2 of the book starts with Father Juilliard talking about a school called Pascal Aguila Mission School, which is located on the Behala dumpsite. The school was named after a freedom fighter named Pascal Aguila, who was a brave man who fought for the poor. Father Juilliard was a teacher in this Mission School, and he is telling his story to the reader because he says that his story has to be told. It means that his story is really important. Also, in the first chapter, Raphael, Gardo and Rat have researched about Jose¡¯ Angelico by borrowing Father Juilliard¡¯s computer. This part of the book is important because we learn about who Pascal Aguila and Jose¡¯ Angelico are, and their lives and the similarities between them gives us lots of clues and keys about the story. Jose¡¯ Angelico is a 33 year old man who was born poor, and fought for the poor. He had a similar life with Pascal Aguila. Both of them died by corrupted police. This creates more suspense to the story, and it also helps the reader to connect the next part about the danger Raphael is in, when he is taken to the police station. Jose¡¯s job was a house boy. He had robbed six million dollars from the vice-president, so he went to police station and died by the policemen. He was a kind, gentle, trustworthy and honest man. He had only an 8 years old daughter called Pia Dante. The mystery increases because readers don¡¯t know why a good man such as Jose Angelico would steal money from the vice-president. In chapter 2, the action increases at the part when Raphael gets a great thrashing by the police. The author creates fast action by expressing the violence of police, and how they kill or hurt people. This makes the reader interested too. We learn that Raphael had determined to keep the secret about the leather bag and who Jose¡¯ Angelico is. He didn¡¯t say that he found the bag to the police, even when the police were trying to kill him. This means that Raphael is trying to find justice for Jose¡¯ Angelico, and I think it¡¯s because that Raphael wants to know why a good man such as Jose¡¯ would steal money, and why he died by police. The theme of police corruption and violence continues in part 2 when Raphael gets a thrashing by the police. The police treat Raphael as a piece of rubbish. They even try to scare Raphael in a violent way, by throwing him out of the window. Another theme in part 2 is justice. Raphael knows about Jose¡¯ Angelico and the bag. But he did not tell the police that he found the bag. What keeps him determined not to tell about the bag, to the police? I think it's because of justice. Raphael wants to find justice for Jose¡¯ Angelico, and he wants to find out more information about what exactly had happened to Jose¡¯. This is the same as Pascal Aguila. Pascal Aguila wanted to find justice for the poor people. So you can see that the characters all have a connection.

Part 2 summary
Part 2 started off with the boys investigating about Jose Angelico's past and what he did. This chapter is important because we learn about Jose Angelico and Pascal Aguila's backstory and also how they share something that is very good to have. Raphael, Jose and Pascal share a trait, a trait that believes in justice. Justice for the poor and everything else that is uncorrupted. This trait gave them strength and also killed the two men. While Raphael was interrogated, he had the strength to not give in to the crude ways of interrogation of the corrupt police. He had the strength because he wanted justice, he wants to finish what Pascal and Jose started.
But what did Pascal Aguila and Jose Angelico do that got them both killed by the police. This was explained during Father Juilliards first turn to tell his part of the story. The boys didn't actually wanted to write the book, Father Juilliard did. As I said in the start the boys investigate about Jose Angelico, but Father Juilliard did not know this. He was deceived by the boys. In his part of the book he "shed some light" into some "dark" information about Pascal Aguila, the founder of the missionary school at the dumpsite. Pascal was originally a poor boy, but throughout his life he wanted to be educated, which he was. Later on in his life, he became a lawyer. A lawyer who supports the poor, fights for freedom and believes in justice. But his final struggle for justice was against powerful and corrupt senators. Pascal had some information that says that the senators have been siphoning tiny amounts of money into other countries. Pascal wanted to expose the crimes that the senators have done. But during the time of his investigation, Pascal was assassinated by corrupt police before he could expose the truth about the senators. Pascal was considered a hero to the poor and that was why the school was named after him.
Jose Angelico on the another hand was also killed but while he was interrogated, in the exact same prison as Raphael was and even possibly the same room. Jose was also a poor boy, he was also an orphan. He was adopted by Jerome Dante Olondriz, the son of the prisoner who has served 23 years in prison, Gabriel Olondriz. Jose worked as a houseboy for one of senators who were siphoning money. Jose was a senior houseboy, served 18 years, during the 18 years Jose has found out that the senator was siphoning money. When Jose knew about it he was accused for stealing $ 6,000,000 from the senator. Jose was interrogated and killed during the crude ways of the police. Father Juilliard asked a staffmate of Jose to write some information about him. Jose had a child, a daughter. He also had a son but he died early in birth. Although Jose had children, he did not have a wife. As Jose's staffmate explained in the book, when Jose died she rushed to get Jose's daughter. But someone had already taken her, someone completely unrelated to Jose's family. Jose did not actually steal any money, but he did wanted justice for the people, he also wanted to expose the senators for their crime, but unfortunately he was stopped.
During Raphael's interrogation, Andy Mulligan created some very suspensive moments that follow after another, something that I would like to call the "Chain of suspense". The "chain of suspense" will end sooner or later in the book but the whole book is actually a "chain of suspense". So the interrogation scene was an add on to the main "chain of suspense". Andy Mulligan creates suspense by building up the story to a point where the reader would imagine what would happen next based on the previous information. Andy also gave little clues about what could happen in the following pages. He also connects backstory with the real story to make the reader imagine the next scene. For example an add on to the "chain of suspense" was added when Raphael was taken by the police. At that point we knew that Jose was interrogated by police and killed. The reader would think that Raphael would have the same fate as Jose but, he doesn't. Raphael was released by the police and the add on from the "chain of suspense has ended. The reader knew that Jose died while he was interrogated, so they would think that Raphael would also. But the most suspensive part of the scene that decided the fate of Raphael was when he was hung out the window. The reader has thoughts of the police letting go of him or they would have the thought of the police putting back in the room and releasing him. When the moment came the suspense had ended.
Hey Ms. Katrina, that was all i could think of writing so ya.

This part of the story is important because we learn a little bit about the characters and author. We are introduced to new characters named Father Juilliard and Pascal Aguila.
Father Juilliard is the person who runs the dumpsite school on Behala. Father Juilliard is also the person who brings telling and bringing different parts of the story to make it complete. The school in Behala was dedicated to the other new character, Pascal Aguila, who was highly respected by the school and by his family. Unfortunately, Pascal Aguila was killed in his car, possibly by corrupt police. He was a lesser-known freedom fighter.
In Part 2, we see the similarities between Raphael, Josè and Pascal. All 3 of them were having problems with the government and they were all fighting for justice. Raphael was fighting for Josè's justice and Pascal and Josè was fighting for the poor people's justice.
Andy Mulligan creates suspense in Part 2 by giving small clues on what's going to happen next and he uses fast action in a lot of action scenes. The theme in Part 2 is justice and more of police corruption. Justice, because the 3 friends, Pascal and Josè are all fighting for different kinds of justice. Even if it costs their life. Police Corruption, because we see the police being really corrupted in more than one scene. They won’t give up until they've got what they want. They are willing to kill people, even if they're children.

Themes in trash- Part 2 Summary
Part 2 of the book starts with Father Julliard writes about a lawyer named Pascal Aguila. Pascal Aguila was a heroic, brave man who started off poor and worked for the poor. He built the missionary school in Behala that Father Julliard is in charge of. However, he was assassinated by someone when he exposed a senator who was siphoning public taxes from people. This creates mystery because the reason for death of this man seems to be mostly by the corrupt police. But, to think about what are the connection between police and the senator makes us more mysterious feeling. The police might be paid extra money from the senator? So the senator can get rid of those people who know smells something fishy about them? On the other hand, we get to know more about José Angelico as Raphael, Gardo and Rat research about them on Father Julliard’s computer. This chapter is important because we learn a lot about José Angelico and Pascal Aguila. They were both dead by corrupt police. A lot of clues of the mystery given by the author create suspension.
In chapter 2, the action increases when the corrupt police went on torturing Raphael. At this point, the suspension grows bigger as we know that the police already killed José Angelico and Pascal Aguila, especially that José died while being interrogated by police and Raphael in the same situation. The author creates fast action by using a lot of descriptive verbs while telling about the scene where Raphael was taken to the police station. We learn that Raphael is brave and strong enough to fool and against the police for José and justice even though he might be fell off the window and die with no one to save him. Andy Mulligan creates more suspense when we finds out that José was killed by police because he stole 6 million dollar from the senator that he worked as a hose boy and exposed by Pascal Aguila. The connection between characters is beginning to show as they were killed by corrupt police and they were against that senator. One of the themes in part 2 of Trash is justice. Raphael didn’t say ‘ I got the bag, let me go’ to the police when he was being tortured. He might did it so as he wanted to find out more about why the police had to kill him.

Part 2 of the book starts with Father Julliard. Father Juliard is a priest and he runs the school called Mission School at dumpsite who built by Pascal Aguila’s family. He is telling a story about Pascal Aguila and some information about his life. Pascal Aguila was a lawyer and he was very poor. He is a freedom fighter. He started off poor and worked to help the poor people and he also exposed senators who were stealing public’s money. Moreover he possible assassination by corrupt police. In part 2 as we learn more about Jose Angelico we can see connections between him and Pascal Aguila such as fighting for justice of poor people and killed by police. The author creates fast action by making the story more exciting and fun so the reader will enjoy reading it. In part 2, the action increases when Raphael was taken by police. This chapter is very dramatic and scary because the police came to the dumpsite and bring Rapahel to Police Station. They bring him and asked him about the bag. Raphael told the police that he didn’t find a bag. Moreover, Rapahel still did not tell the police about the bag even though the police ask him many times. The police were very violent and beat up Raphael. But Raphael still did not give up. We learn that Raphael is a really brave boy. He also has to lie because he wants to survive. He doesn’t want the police to kill him, he wants to die with justice. Not just for him, but also for Jose Angelico. Through Raphael, Jose Angelico and Pascal Aguila was killed by the police. Raphael doesn’t want the police to kill him! We can see that the themes of police violence + corruption and Justice.Example of Police Violence + corruption is on page 29, when Raphael said “when the police get mean, you don’t want to be around” it means that if the police is angry, you should run away because they can get really violent and they will beat you up very badly! We also already know a few information about Jose Angelico. On chapter 4 of part 2, Grace talks about Jose Angelico because she worked close with Jose Angelico. She talks about this because Father Julliard ask her what kind of a man is he. Grace said that Jose Angelico was gentle, trusthworthy and honest, he had a very quiet voice and he didn’t smoke. His wife died before she even knows him. Jose Angelico have a daughter called Pia Dante. He also have a son but his son died when he was still really young. Jose Angelico is a poor man and he steal six million dollars money from the president. The police arrested him for robbery. Najiha 7K

Part two starts with father Julliard’s job and that he fell in love with that place and he was at the age of 63. This chapter is important because we have learnt that José Angelico died in a police department. The action increases when we know that José Angelico died in a police department so he could have been good or bad it also increases when we know that he stole 6 million dollars from the vice-president. We learnt that Raphael is brave and wants justice for poor people. Andy mulligan creates suspense by foreshadowing and giving little clues, built up a story about police corruption and Raphael is alone with police. Jose Angelico is a house boy, had daughter, not rich and he is an adapted orphan.

Start of part 2 father Julliard talks about Pascal Aguila helping the school and his sad justice story. In this chapter it also says Rat, Raphael and Gardo using the computer to research about Jose Angelico and Gabriel olondrez. Father Julliard is telling the readers that the three boys had find good evidence by their descriptions of their expressions.
Chapter 2 In chapter 2 Raphael tell us the story. In this chapter Raphael gets caught by the police very suddenly. This creates fast action and makes more suspense to the story. Raphael was getting irritated with his aunt for saying to the corrupt police that Raphael had found something. When he was in the interrogation room he wandered that it might be the same room as Jose Angellico was and like thinking that it was the same situation. Raphael didn’t even say anything while he was getting thrashed. Jose Angellico and Raphael are very courageous to fight for justice. But if there was a difference Raphael lived but Jose didn’t.
Chapter 3 In chapter 3 it’s still Raphael. He was released and thinking so happily and don’t even know where is going. He asks a old man for cigarettes. This could mean they have no family so they could do everything.
Chapter 4 In chapter 4 Grace is talking who was the maid of senator Zapanta. Grace and Jose Angellico are well. She will talk more information abut Jose Angellico like his family and what he did to go to jail. She tried to help that man by finding her daughter but she couldn’t. She convinces or tells the readers that Jose Angellico is a good man.

Part 2
The theme of this story is Raphael, Gardo and Rat try to protect what they have to from the police. Raphael, Gardo and Rat came to the mission school to borrow the computer. In chapter 2, the action increases when Raphael gets caught by the police. The author creates fast actions to get the reader get excited. Andy Mulligan creates suspense by foreshadowing. Raphael was arrested to police so the police was trying to find how much money did he find and where did he find the bag but he didn’t answer where the bag is. Later he was released from the police. This story begins on introducing Father Julliard. Raphael and his friends Gardo and Rat ran for their lives. Wanted by the police, it takes all their quick-thinking, fast-talking to stay ahead. He ran and he walked. While he was walking he saw old man carrying two kids in carts.

Ms. Katrina, this is my new one. This is probably ok.... SUMMARY OF PART 2 OF TRASH MINJU KIM 7D Part 2 of the book starts with Father Julliard, who has been running Pascal Aguila Mission School, discussing Pascal Aguila. He also talks about the School, and why he respects Pascal Aguila. This chapter is important because we learn about Pascal Aguila, who built the Pascal Aguila Mission School. Anyway, Father Julliard said that Pascal Aguila wanted to build things to make life better. He spoke twelve languages, and he started off with poor, and then wanted to help poor. He also exposed senators who were stealing public money. And he could be assassinated by corrupt police. In chapter 2, the action increases when Raphael is getting horrible thrashing from police. Raphael kept on saying that he didn’t find a bag because he knew what the police will do to him if he says he found it. The author creates fast action by putting many verbs in that sentence. There is a paragraph with fast action, which is: “The policeman didn’t kick me. He reached down, grabbed me, and he and the man in the suit lifted me up by the hair and an arm, and I was put back in the chair.”-Page 61. These sentences have a lot of verbs, such as, kick, reached, grabbed, lifted, and put. And it is horrible to read, because the grown men are beating a little boy. We learned that Raphael is a very brave boy. Although he was in the police station and getting thrashing, he was lying to police to protect the people that he knows in dumpsites, and Jose Angelico’s justice. I think Andy Mulligan makes suspense by revealing different clues each chapter and giving hints about what is to come. When he is talking about the weather here – this is to calm the reader down and show how happy Raphael is to be free. Such as: “It was raining and cool.”-Page 68. That sentence feels calm and quiet. During chapter three and four, we get a lot of information about Jose Angelico. Jose Angelico was kind, gentle, trustworthy, and honest. And he had a daughter named Pia Dante, and she is eight years old. When he was young, he was an orphan, and Dante Jerome Olondriz (son of Gabriel Olondriz) adopted Jose Angelico. And he stole six hundred dollars, so he was caught by police. Raphael felt knowing these information made him stronger. The theme in part 2 of Trash is also police corruption too. This theme happens when Raphael knew that Pascal Aguila, and Jose Angelico was dead in police station. And he was scared that he will be killed too. Although there are some information about Pascal Aguila, and Jose Angelico, the point is that the police was trying to kill him by hitting him and hanging outside of window to make him tell the truth.

Part 2 of the book starts with Father Julliard who is the manager of a missionary school wrote about a lawyer named Pascal Aguila. Pascal Aguila was a heroic, brave man who started off poor and worked for the poor. He was the principle of his missionary school in Behala that Father Julliard is in charge of. However, he was assassinated by someone when he exposed a senator who was siphoning public taxes from people. This creates mystery because the reason for the death of this man seems to be mostly by the corrupt police. But, to think about what is between police and the senator makes us mysterious. The police might be paid extra money from the senator. So the senator can get rid of those people who smell something fishy about them. Also, we get to know more about José Angelico as Raphael, Gardo and Rat research about him and Gabriel Olondriz on Father Julliard’s computer. He didn’t tell the police about the bag and what he knew for justice, he risked his life to the lies that he told the police. The thing that kept Raphael alive could be that he thought this was a chance of José’s revenge, want more truth and possibility of revealing the corrupt government to the world. Later he said the he felt as if José’s with him- he might was killed in the same police station. fixed one
