I'm done...!finally... Summary of Part 3-Trash Minju 7D Part 3 of the book starts with Sister Olivia, who is called a ‘temporary house mother’ at Behala Mission School. The kids in the dumpsites used to call her sister, but they are now calling her mother. She saw Raphael’s bruising everywhere on his body, and felt so sad to him. The three boys came to her and asked that can Gardo go to prison to meet his grandfather. Olivia couldn’t understand why is his grandfather in prison. So the boys told Olivia the reason, which was a lie. Actually, the boys were lying to Olivia by telling about Gardo’s grandfather. They were lying to meet Gabriel Olondriz in prison to get some information from him. So Sister Olivia bought Gardo new clothes, and shoes in case of any suspicion. And then they rode a taxi to Colva Prison. In chapter two, Father Julliard said the three boys are the best liars in the world for survival. He said that Raphael and Gardo are smart but he said Rat is getting very dangerous. The taxi that Olivia and Gardo rode took them to the Colva Prison. They waited in the waiting room. Few minutes later, the prison guard came to them to escort them to the prison. Gardo told officer who he wants to meet. So the officer took Gardo and Olivia to the prison door. And finally, the final door was unlocked and the prison guards said ‘Welcome!’ very happily to them. They couldn’t understand why are they so excited and happy. Although the guard welcomed them warmly, but they couldn’t get the welcome that warmly and friendly. They felt like they were walking to the hell. Olivia expected cells but there were only cages. It looked like old-designed zoo, with animals in each cages. The prisoners were looking Gardo and Olivia from left, right and from the top. The people are whispering for help or for money. Olivia was about to cry while she was looking around the cages. After Olivia and Gardo were put in a room, Olivia started to cry. She asked Gardo why are they in there, and Gardo said, “They are poor. They do many things.” Few minutes later, two guards walked inside with an old man, who was old, weak, and skinny. That old man was Gabriel Olondriz. The old man, Gabriel Olondriz, asked Olivia her name, so she told him. But something wasn’t right for Olivia. Gardo said this is his grandfather, but he did not even greet Gardo. Anyway, Gabriel told them that he is in prison because he brought corruption charges against Senator Zapanta thirty five years ago. Senator Zapanta is a Vice-President of this country. He stole thirty million dollars of international aid money. And Gabriel told Gardo that Dante Jerome is his son. Gardo asked him what does ‘It is accomplished’ mean in the letter. But he does not know what that means. Raphael and Rat decided to leave Behala and go to Sampalo (of course Gardo too). Rat told Raphael that he can swim, and fish. And he also had two thousand three hundred and twenty six pesos with him. And the boys also decided to go to Senator Zapanta’s house. The old gardener told the boys some information about Senator Zapanta, such as that he is fat. He also told them about six million dollars in a fridge. No one likes Senator Zapanta. Still in Prison, Gardo and Olivia with Gabriel. Gardo recited a letter to Gabriel. He told Gardo that the numbers are the code, and he said he needs a bible for solving. The other thing was happening to Olivia too. She had to leave the country. She wasn’t mad about using her. She felt thankful to them for using her. The themes of part 3 are morality and dangers of poverty. Because there are many quotes about dangers of poverty and morality. One example of dangers of poverty is, “Some of our children are the best liars in the world. I guess it is survival,” –Page 84. And one example of morality is “I left part of my heart, and writing this only makes my long to see you again, and this page is wet with my tears, boys. Good bye and thank you so much for using me”-Page 136. Sometimes it is okay to lie. For example, you can lie to protect the people, who are in danger. It is sometimes to work against a law, if you are doing for country’s benefit. I think its pretty long...

Yay I finished! ;D It's really long!! Hahahahaha I hope you like it Ms Katrina<3
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Part 3 of the book starts with Sister Olivia introducing herself and telling us about what Raphael, Gardo and Rat did to her. Sister Olivia is a twenty-two temporary house-mother at Behala¡¯s Mission School and she works with Father Juilliard. She fell in love with Behala and the dumpsite children, so she couldn¡¯t leave the place and started working in this place. The three boys lied to Olivia to deliver the letter to Gabriel Olondriz, who is in Colva Prison. So Olivia and Gardo visited the prison and meet Gabriel, and they found out lots of information about him, Jose¡¯ Angelico and the Senator. This part is really important because readers find out lots of clues and the mystery gets solved as the reader read along. Gabriel Olondirz is Jose¡¯ Angelico¡¯s grandfather, aka Dante Jerome¡¯s father. He went to jail for entire life because he brought corruption charges against Senator Zapanta, thirty-five years ago. He was trying to let people know that the Senator stole about thirty five million dollars from the international aid money and the poor people. Gabriel had evidence to prove it, but Senator Zapanta turned case and put Gabriel in prison for entire life. Gabriel has lots of grandsons, including Jose¡¯ Angelico. When Gardo visited Colva prison with Olivia, he told Gabriel all about the letter and the number code he found. Gabriel said that the number code is the book code, which corresponds to letters on certain pages of his bible. Gabriel said that he needs his bible to solve the code but the policemen didn¡¯t let him give them his bible. So Gardo and Olivia had to leave the prison without the bible. After, Olivia had to banish from the county. And then, Gabriel ended up dyeing in prison peacefully. The three boys are trying to leave Behala with Rat¡¯s money. They¡¯re planning to go to Rat¡¯s home, a place known as paradise, called Sampalo. The reason why they¡¯re going to leave Behala is that it¡¯s dangerous staying in Behala and they don¡¯t need to stay there anymore. While Gardo was away in prison with Olivia, Raphael and Rat went to Senator Zapanta¡¯s house to find out more information about the letter, the Senator and Jose¡¯ Angelico. They meet an old gardener who worked in Senator¡¯s house for a long time, and find out information about Senator Zapanta and how Jose¡¯ Angelico stole the money. Jose¡¯ Angelico stole the money by using a broken fridge and then dropped it on the graveyard. We still don¡¯t know why he dropped it on the graveyard, which creates suspense. Senator Regis Zapanta is a Vice-President in Behala. He is rich and wealthy, living in a castle full of windows. He eats a lot so he¡¯s fat, and he wastes a lot. The most important about him is that he is very corrupt and greedy, so he steals lots of money from poor people. Plus, he put Gabriel in prison for life. The author creates a lot of suspense in part 3, by telling the reader some clues and the solution of the mysteries. The author adds to the mysteries too. Plus, he gives us suspense by telling us about the letter, like ¡°It is accomplished¡± or describing the weather for suspense when Olivia says ¡°This was dry season but there was talk of a freak typhoon coming in from the sea¡± (Page 86). This makes the reader think more questions about the next story, questions starting with how, why, what, where, and who. For example, questions like ¡°why and how did he/she do that?¡± or ¡°will he/she get it?¡± or ¡°What does it mean?¡± ect. The theme of police corruption and dangers of poverty continues in part 3 when Father Juilliard says ¡°Some of our children are the best liars in the world. I guess it is survival¡± (Page 84). This is one of the themes of dangers of poverty, and it means that poor children need to lie to survive, to protect something or to be safe. I think it¡¯s sometimes okay to lie, when you really need to protect something, or to be safe. Lying in a good way is okay, but in a bad way it can hurt or harm other people. Another theme is police corruption, when Olivia says ¡°To walk into a prison is a very frightening thing, because you cannot help but think, what if something goes wrong and they won¡¯t let me out?¡± (Page 87). This means that corrupt police can do anything they would like to do at anytime, and they¡¯re always dangerous, so people need to beware of them. There is a new theme in part 3, and that is morality. You can see it when Olivia says ¡°I left part of my heart, and writing this only makes my long to see you again, and this page is wet with my tears, boys. Good bye and thank you so much for using me¡± (Page 136). Olivia isn¡¯t angry with the three boys who lied to her, and using her. She just gives them good luck and I think she¡¯ll never forget them, forever. This is morality.

The beginning of the book starts with Olivia falling in love with another person in Behala; Olivia is a foreigner which was called a ‘temporary house-mother’ which means you agree to do daytime shifts helping out wherever you can. In Behala Olivia met a boy named Jun also known as Rat, Rat lives in a tunnel full of rats and he has no friends except Raphael and Gardo. Rat had never called Olivia as her name he would call her ‘sister’ and then after a while he started calling her ‘mother’. Raphael lies to Olivia that he has a grandfather in jail and that he needs to go and visit him his name is Gabriel Olondriz, Gabriel is a poor person that stole 6 million dollars from the vice president Zapanta. Olivia takes Raphael to jail and Raphael reads the bit that he memorized to Gabriel. Raphael and rat went to senator’s house and discussed about family’s safety. They figure out that Gabriel put the money in the fridge and puts it in the graveyard so no one can find it. Gabriel steals money because the vice-president was siphoning money. And it is good that he stole the money because sometimes it’s ok to steal if the person is bad and Zapanta was a bad person so it was ok to steal money from him. After that Gabriel dies and Olivia gets sent back home but she left a letter that said ‘thank you for using me’ so Olivia was angry that they were using her even though she was sent back.

Summary part 3
In part 3, the main events are first Raphael was taken to the prison and interrogated. Second event is the three little boys named Raphael, Rat and Gardo deceived her to take them to prison by saying Gardo’s Grandfather is in the prison but he is so sick, also, they said grandfather have no family rather than Gardo. After all, they deceived Sister Olivia successfully and then they went to the prison to meet Gabriel, also, Gabriel is the person who lived in jail for 35 years which is his whole life because he was involved with the senator. After the conversation between Gardo and Gabriel, he explains why he is in the prison and his relationship to Jose Angelico, but Gabriel looked so hard to talk because he was so sick. Gabriel son’s Dante Jerome adopted Jose Angelico as his son, that’s the relationship between Jose Angelico and Gabriel. While they’re having a conversation, Raphael and Rat goes to the senator’s house and found how Jose Angelico stole the money. Also, Raphael and Rat said senator’s house was so luxury and it was covered with the windows. Back to the Gabriel’s story, Gardo recites the letter to Gabriel to hand over the story of that letter. After Gardo recited the letter, Gabriel explained about the bible then he died. Over all, when they went back to the behala, Olivia was kicked out of the country because she met Gabriel who is in the prison but died. That’s the main event that is shown in part 3.
I think its okay to lie in some kind of situation. Jose Angelico stole the money because he knew that the senator is a bad person and senator stole about $35 million dollar from poor people by making any reason of paying the money. That’s why Jose Angelico stole senator’s money because it’s not his money and Jose Angelico stole that money for poor people. Second one is Raphael and Gardo lied to Sister Olivia. I think they’re smart because they knew if they tell the truth then of course Sister Olivia won’t let them to go so they lied using the word grandfather, they had to lie because they were no other ways to go to the prison and meet Gabriel. But, in some way, lying is bad like senator lied to the poor people to pay money but in some other it’s allowed to lie if it’s reasonable. The little three boys had an important reason but senator was just wanted money. So I think its okay to lie in reasonable ways but no others except for the Christian.
They’re some police and government corruption in part 3. One of the quote that’ll give me the example is “the police killed him, sir. He was killed when they were questioning him”.(Gardo, page 107). Most of the people in behala know that the police are violent and not honest. They just kill the person if they get annoyed or if they don’t like the answer of their question with no other reason. Other problem is, even though the police do this, government never cares it, they know the truth of police but they never say anything to police. Another example is “the reason I am in this jail is that I brought corruption charges against Senator Regis Zapanta thirty-five years ago” (Gabriel, page 101). It’s government’s corruption. The reason Gabriel is in the jail is because of senator, it was all senator’s fault. Gabriel knew that the senator siphoned the money from the poor people and Gabriel had the evidence of that entire problem but the senator did something and the Gabriel was the person who had to go to the jail, because he had no power.
The truth of Jose Angelico and Gabriel was answered because we already know that it’s not their fault, it was senator’s fault. They’re innocent and they wanted the justice, they fought for the poor people. They didn’t do any bad things they only did the right things. Also, we all know that they all died in the police station and the jail. All involved in police. I think in this point the three little boys Raphael, Gardo and Rat have to find the money from the senator or they have to let the world know about the truth of the senator.
Thanks. MIN JOO 7K dont blame me ms.k !!

Summary of Part 3
Part 3 contained a first and final appearance of a character, Sister Olivia. Olivia was visiting Behala, during her visit she fell in love with the children at the dumpsite. After a few days she left the city and went to travel. In her travels she could not get the thought of the children in Behala, for she has "fallen in love" with them. She then returns to Behala and works at a Missionary School at the dumpsite. She works as a temporary house mother, which means she agrees to work during the day to help wherever she can. Back to the story, Raphael has returned from a horrible beating during his interrogation and the boys wanted to discover more information about the infamous Gabriel Olondriz. The boys devised a plan to visit the infamous prisoner, Gabriel Olondiz, but this plan involves Sister Olivia. To complete this devious plan to visit the prisoner they had to deceive Olivia. The boys deceived her by making her believe that Gardo wanted to talk to his "grandfather", A.K.A. Gabriel Olondriz, about his house. Olivia believed them for she is a soft-hearted person and she would believe anything that included a sad story. Although I do not believe that lying to someone will get you anywhere, I still respect the boys for the determination to find out the truth. Doing anything they can to find the truth, which includes lying. Which raises the questions of morality, is it good to lie? When is it okay to lie? When is it not okay to lie? These questions would cross your mind when you're reading the book. All throughout the book, Is it okay to lie to survive? All of these questions will go through your mind.
Back to the story. Gardo and Olivia were the two who went and visited the jail. During their travel Gardo had a change of clothes which Olivia had to pay for. Instead of looking like a dumpsite boy, he now looks like a rich kid. When they arrived, they were greeted with guards a sheets paperwork to fill out. It took a long time for them to actually enter the visiting room and it cost a fortune for Olivia. Following her payment, they entered a hallway, a hallway full of cages. Cages that was stacked up three high and seemed went on for eternity. When they entered a room an old man was there to greet them. That old man was the infamous Gabriel Olondriz. During their long and very enticing talk, Olivia barely knew what Gabriel did or who he was all she knew was that she thought he was Gardo's Grandfather. But she discovered who he was later on. During the talk Gabriel explained how he got here, he came across some information about a Senator who was siphoning money from United Nations aid money. He sued the Senator for siphoning aid money but, the Senator had more power and money. The Senator counter sued Gabriel and he was sentenced to life in imprisonment. Gardo also explains about the letter that he found in a locker key concerning Gabriel and Jose Angelico. The letter said something was accomplished. It said that "your soul would sing if you visit the house" or something like that. Gabriel also explains that Jose Angelico is his grandson and he did not know that he had died in an interrogation. Gardo also explains that Jose has stolen $6,000,000 from the Senator. No one knows how he did but he did it somehow .Gabriel almost finishes decoding the mind boggling letter for him but he had died before he could figure it out which ended his life sentence of imprisonment.
After a few days from the talk with Gabriel, Olivia had some legal issues which forced her to return to England and leave Behala. But in the end of Part 3 she states that she knew that they deceived her but she wasn't angry with them. Instead she was happy to have been used by the boys.
This part is not done yet though, when Gardo was talking with Gabriel about Jose Angelico, Senator Zapanta and the letter concerning about a task being accomplished, Raphael and Rat had their own adventure too. Raphael and Rat were talking about some important matters about their families' and their own survival. Since Raphael was pissing his pants during the night, he has been thinking about the police coming into his home and terrorising his family. So he thought that the best thing to do to keep his family from danger was to leave the dumpsite. Rat also reveals a secret about himself to Raphael. Rat actually came from Sampalo, which was referred as a paradise in their country. Rat was actually a fisherman but he left Sampalo and went to Behala. Rat also has been raising some money for a boat to go back to his hometown Sampalo. Back to the main story, Raphael and Rat have travelled to the house of the infamous Senator Zapanta. The man who had siphoned money from aid money. The man who had been robbed by Jose Angelico the grandson of Gabriel Olondriz. They went to the house to figure what has been accomplished. The thing that has been accomplished is referring to the letter for Gabriel Olondriz. When they arrived in the house, they were stunned by the size of the Senator's House. They have never seen anything like it before. They did not enter the front door though, they used a sneaky way to enter. When they entered, a man spoke them. Raphael was frightened of the man. Although the man meant no harm, all he wanted was to know why they were here. Rat spoke to him about a houseboy named Jose Angelico and what he had done. The man knew everything about it, he knew how Jose stole the money. He had said that Jose was a very clever person. After all he placed the money in a broken fridge. The Senator had a broken fridge, he wanted a new one but Jose wanted his old one because he was poor and he could not afford lots of stuff. He ordered the shipping men to send the fridge full of money to a graveyard. Why a graveyard? I don't know at all. But the plan was genius, no one suspected a thing. Until he was accused of stealing the money that is. Raphael and Rat later on return back to the dumpsite knowing more information about how Jose stole the money.
That is the end of Part 3. Part 3 contained several moments that raised even more mysteries and also answered most of the previous questions that you might have thought about. But there was 2 major questions related to the mystery why Jose wanted to put the money in the Graveyard. Why did Jose wanted to place the money in the graveyard? and has anyone found the money yet or is it still stolen? I myself do not know why Jose chose a graveyard but I am guessing he has an important figure that is in the graveyard possibly his father. I think the money has not been found by anyone yet for it has not been stated in the book.
Part 3 also contains morality questions, that would effect how you see life and this book. The morality question that would appear in this part of the book is "Is it okay to lie?" This question can be broken up into different questions such as "Is it okay to lie to survive?" So this question has been going through my mind and I believe that lying is not good in any circumstance, life or death. My religion also effected my choice in this question so you must also keep that in mind.

Summary for Part 3!!
The beggining of the part 3 starts with Sister Olivia introducing herself and who is called a “temporary house mother” at Behala’s Mission School. She works with Father Julliard. She fell in love with the Behala children so she work there. Olivia knew Jun, little boy called Rat. Jun would not call her Olivia. He always call Olivia ‘sister’ and then ‘mother’. The three boys came to her and lied to her because they wanted to deliver to Gabriel Olondriz, in Colva Prison. They were lyring because they want to get some information about from him. Later then, Sister Olivia bought Gardo a new clothes. On chapter 5, Sister Olivia and Gardo met Gabriel Olondriz. She asked Garbriel Olondriz if he is Gardo’s grandfather but Garbriel Olondriz said no. So, Sister Olivia knows that Gardo just tricked her. After they talked, Sister Olivia and Gardo find a lot of information about him such as he is in jail because he brought corruption charges against Senator Regis Zapanta thirty-five years ago. Senator Zapanta is big man in this country, he is a vice president. He was the one who stole thirty five million dollars of international aid money. Raphael and Gardo decied the leave Behala and go to Sampalo. Back to the prison, Sister Olivia and Gabriel Olondriz still talking about money and Senator Zapanta. Gardo asked Gabriel Olondriz who is Dante Jerome and he answered Danted Jerome was his son. The two boys decied to go to Senator Zapant’s house. When the arrived, they were shocked because they never seen anything like this before. Then there’s a man told the Raphael and Rat about six million dollars in an old fridge who was stole by Jose Angelico. The man said that Jose is a clever guy so that’s why he kept the money in the fridge so it’ll be safe. The man then sent the mony to the graveyard. Maybe the graveyard is the safest place. End of part 3, Olivia had to leave the country. She wasn’t mad at the boys, she was thankful because for using her. The themes in part 3 are dangers of poverty and police corruption. Example of dangers of poverty is “Some of our children are the best liars in the world, i guess it is survival” (Father Julliard, age 84) i think it means that it ok to lie if you want to protect something or someone. But if you lying for fun, then that is not ok. By: Najiha 7K

trash part 3 summary Part 3 of Trash starts when Sister Olivia, who is a temporary mother of Behala Missionary School writing about herself. She was just visiting the place, but soon fell in love with dump site children and started to work with Father Juilliard. One day, she was visited by the three boys: Gardo, Raphael and Rat. She was persuaded by their made up excuse about his house and grandfather and was on way to Colva Prison with Gardo. In next chapter, Father Julliard creates some mystery which was children in Behala can be the best liars in the world just to survive. Also, he says that Raphael and Gardo were brave and smart but Rat has done something wrong and he might do the thing again which might make them dangerous. Inside the prison, Sister Olivia paid a lot of money and her time to meet Gabriel Olondriz who was not Gardo¡¯s grandfather as the boys said, but a person who the boys wanted to deliver a letter from Jose¡¯ Angelico. In the prison, what she could see was cages which were just like those in zoo with prisoner even children inside and an old man seems very near to death who was Gabriel Olondriz. After having a conversation with him, Sister Olivia, realized that she had been deceived and that the boys were into something really big. Gardo and she find out that Jose¡¯ Angelico was one of adopted child of Jerome Dante who was the son of Gabriel Olondriz. Meanwhile, Rat and Raphael broke into Senator Zapanta¡¯s house which was so big. They met a gardener and heard about how Jose¡¯ Angelico stole six million dollars and carried it out of the house in a fridge to a graveyard. Senator Zapanta is a fat, rich and surely very powerful man in the country. He was siphoning thirty million dollars from the money for poor people. In this part, the author gives mysteries to reader- is the six million dollars are part of the thirty million dollar? Why did Jose¡¯ have stolen the money? Is it for revenge? The author creates more suspense and mystery by telling us about the letter that says ¡®it is accomplished¡¯ or giving little clues about the weather. Sister Olivia says ¡®¡¦a freak typhoon coming from the sea¡¯ (page 84). He makes the reader curious and want to ask some questions. Like ¡®was it ok for jose¡¯ to steal money from Zapanta?¡¯ why does he hide the money in the graveyard?¡¯ Sister Olivia was kicked out of the country because she was related to a criminal. In a different way, help a criminal. She was not mad at the three boys instead she was glad that she could help them a little more. It is morality. well... i kind of went off the point but please know that i was reeeaaalllly sleeepyyy...

Summary of Part 3
The Part 3 of Trash starts with introducing Olivia Weston. She works at the Behala Mission School as a ‘temporary house-mother.’ She's a 22 year-old woman who fell in love with Behala dumpsite and the children. She was so “stupidly soft-hearted” that Rat got her wrapped around his little finger. So when he and his friends appeared in front of Sister Olivia, she felt sorry for them, especially when she saw Raphael and his bruises. She was very shocked when the boys asked her if she could help them. She thought they very about to ask a very big sum of money but instead, they asked if she could accompany Gardo to visit her grandfather. They said that the police were trying to get his grandfather out of his house that’s why they sent him to prison. But what Sister Olivia didn’t know was that they were lying about everything. But she still foolishly fell for their lies. She agreed to accompany Gardo after listening to the boy’s lies and pleas.
After purchasing Gardo new clothes and shoes, they made their way to Colva Prison. She didn’t need Gardo to tell her that they had arrived to Colva Prison. She could tell already from just looking at the high concrete wall. She paid 10,000 pesos, got her passport taken away and got her security pass created. After all the trouble, she found herself walking in Colva Prison.
She pictured cells but she was clearly wrong. It was all cages. They were all stacked up with ladders on the sides and continued in long rows, making alleyways in between. They were exactly like the cages in an old-fashioned zoo but instead of animals, it was people. As she walked deeper inside the incredibly hot prison, everyone was shouting at her. Everyone was staring at her, looking at her from above, from the sides and probably from the bottom too. The prison smelt like old food, sweat and urine. She lost her balance for a moment and leaned on the bars of a cage. People were touching her arms and her hair, whispering. She felt ‘useless tears rising up to her stupid eyes.’
She kept on following the blue-shirted guard and kept following until she went through a metal door, up a staircase and into an empty room. Gardo explained to her that when people and children are poor, they do many things. After a while, two guards entered the room with a very old man. Olivia saw him staring at her with his white eyes, as if he had been waiting for her.
The old man, who was Gabriel Olondriz, was very polite and kind to Olivia. He had said he was weak but Olivia noticed that instead of weak, he was dying. It looked like he was having a very hard time to do anything. It looked difficult to stand, sit or maybe even talk.
Even though Gabriel seemed to be delighted to see them, Olivia was confused because he had not greeted Gardo, who Olivia thought was his grandson. She introduced him to Gabriel, asking if they knew each other. But Gabriel declined the information. He explained that he did not know Gardo and Gardo was forced to explain the truth. Gabriel helped Olivia by explaining who he was and why he was in prison. He explained that he sued Senator Zapanta because he claims that he had proof that Senator Zapanta stole $30,000,000. He had all his evidence in his house but unfortunately, his house mysteriously went up in flames, burning everything including his evidence and killing his maid and driver. Senator Zapanta told everyone that Gabriel had defrauded the government of $500,000 and that he had organized the murder of a popular banker. Senator Zapanta counter-sued and this landed Gabriel in prison with a Life Imprisonment sentence. And he thinks the sentence is nearly over.
Gardo asked Gabriel who Dante Jerome was and what does ‘It is accomplished’ meant. Gabriel explained that Dante Jerome was his son and did not know what the phrase meant. Gardo confessed that he found a letter from José Angelico but did not bring it. He also told Gabriel that José Angelico was dead. This shocked the old man and Olivia could see that Gabriel was feeling pain from the outside and from the inside.
While all the events are happening in Colva Prison, Rat and Raphael could not stand waiting and waiting all day. So they decided to pay Senator Zapanta’s house a visit. Rat exposed his secret stash and his secret dream about leaving Behala dumpsite and coming back home to Sampalo with his best friends. His goal is to buy a boat and to fish forever in Sampalo.
Raphael explains that he was having sleeping problems. He always has nightmares at night and waking up crying and screaming. Raphael would wake up to see Gardo holding him, cradling him like a baby.
So with Rat’s money, they took the bus and were dropped off in front of Senator Zapanta’s house. They sneaked into the garden and were surprised to see the gardener. Raphael panicked but the gardener looked trustworthy so Rat was able to calm him down.
The gardener asked questions and Rat answered them. In return, the gardener explains how José Angelico stole the money. He says that when the old fridge was already old and broken, he stuffed the money inside, bought a new fridge for the Senator and kept the old one. He gave the old one to the truck who delivered the new one. But he says he’ll ride with them to show a short-cut. Then he stayed with them to keep it, he paid them 2,000 pesos to deliver it to…the graveyard. After that, he was never seen again.
The gardener says that no one likes the fat Senator. He explains that the Senator has been stealing for years. And he hopes that he doesn’t get a single cent back. And he wishes that the shock kills him.
Back to Colva Prison, Gabriel explains that José Angelico was his favourite grandson. Then he asks Gardo to recite the letter to him. After he recited the letter, he went pale. He says that what he says was impossible. Then he asks Gardo if he brought the instructions, the code. Unfortunately, Gardo wasn’t able to bring it or memorize it. Gabriel thanked him for not bringing the letter and the code and explains how to read the code. But they need to have Gabriel’s Bible in their possession to be able to read it. The visit met its end so they weren’t able to get the Bible. But the guard has promised to deliver it to Behala but Gardo explains that they can be very corrupt and will want money to exchange.
The next day, Gabriel Olondriz died in the Colva Prison hospital. Olivia Weston was questioned but she did her best to protect the 3 boys. She claims that Gabriel and Gardo had spoken in their own language and that they were talking about a house, grandson to grandfather. Her father sent a lawyer who helped her get out of the situation. She was released and her passport was returned. She left the country on the same day. She was not angry about being used and lied to by the three boys. Instead, she was thankful.
Corruption and Morality are the themes in Part 3. One example for corruption is “But the lawyers had been bought, and they fed all my defence straight back to Mr Zapanta.” (Gabriel Olondriz, page 105) This means that people can be bought to do bad things. Another example is “He’s been stealing for years. Stealing even from me and you – can you believe that?” (The Gardener, page 126) This means that you can’t trust anyone when it comes to money. They can be very greedy and would want to keep the money to themselves.
One example for morality is “Our children are the best liars in the world. I guess it is survival.’ (Father Juilliard, page 84) This means that the children will lie to protect their family. It’s okay to lie if you’re protecting something, or someone. Another example is “How did you let your houseboy walk out of the door with six million dollars?” (The Gardener, page 124) This means that although he broke the law and stole money from one of the most powerful men in the country, it is alright as long as he was doing it for the right reason. He stole money because it was not Senator Zapanta’s money in the first place. He stole to achieve justice for the poor. The people in the country are poor because Senator Zapanta kept on siphoning out of the money that was intended for the people.

Part 3 starts with Sister Olivia telling the story about the activities that had happened in the prison with Gardo when they were meeting an old man name, Gabriel Olondriz. There are main events or moment of tension on part 3. First, Raphael gets taken to the prison and gets interrogated, second the three boys (Raphael, Rat and Gardo) tricks/convinces Sister Olivia to take Gardo to Colva Prison. Third, Sister Olivia goes to prison and meets Gabriel; fourth Gabriel explains why he is in prison and his relationship with Jose’ Angelico. Fifth, Rat and Raphael goes to the senator’s house and finds how Joes’ Angelico stole the money; sixth, Gardo recites the letter to Gabriel. Seventh, Gabriel explains about the bible which would be use to find the answer for the weird code that Rap, Gardo and Rat had found. Then Gabriel dies. Lastly, Olivia gets kicked out of the country.
One of the quote from part 3 is “Some of our children are the best liars in the world. I guess it is survival” (Father Julliard page 84) shows the dangers of poverty that kids have to go through. Another quote of dangers of poverty is “ These children are doomed to breathe the stink all day, all night, shifting the effluent of the city, Rats and children, children and rates, and you sometimes think they have pretty much the same life” (olive. Page 85) this quote also tells that there are no futures doing other jobs from the kids
There are more quotes that show different types of theme and advance mystery. “It is accomplished. Go to the house now and your soul would sing” (Page 106) this quote are one of the clues that unfolds the mystery and builds up suspense also. Another quote is “The reason I am in this jail is that I brought corruption charges against Senator Regis Zapanta thirty five years ago” (Gabriel, page 101) this shows the dangers of poverty, corruption and a clue that unfolds the mystery.
There are many questions that had been answered such as the reason why Gabriel is in prison, what is the relationship with him and José’. The question that needs to be answered at this point right now is “Where is the money?” “Why a grave yard?” “Is Jose’s daughter alive?’ “Would Gardo get the bible from the police” “What could their next plan be?

Yayy I finished editing it! Maybe~ It's my final? I hope! Is the order okay? I always write the orders mixed up, don't I? Hahaha Whatever~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 3 of the book starts with Sister Olivia introducing herself and telling us about what Raphael, Gardo and Rat did to her. Sister Olivia is a twenty-two temporary house-mother at Behala¡¯s Mission School and she works with Father Juilliard. She fell in love with Behala and the dumpsite children, so she couldn¡¯t leave the place and started working in there. The three boys lied to Olivia to deliver the letter to Gabriel Olondriz, who is in Colva Prison. So Olivia and Gardo visited the prison and meted Gabriel, and they found out lots of information about him, Jose¡¯ Angelico and the Senator. This part is really important because readers find out lots of clues and the mystery gets solved as the reader reads along. Gabriel Olondirz is Jose¡¯ Angelico¡¯s grandfather, aka Dante Jerome¡¯s father. He went to jail for his entire life because he brought corruption charges against Senator Zapanta, thirty-five years ago. He was trying to let people know that the Senator stole about thirty five million dollars from the international aid money and the poor people. Gabriel had evidence to prove it, but Senator Zapanta turned his case and put Gabriel in prison for his entire life. After, Olivia was banished from the county. And then, Gabriel ended up dying in prison peacefully. The three boys were trying to leave Behala with Rat¡¯s money. They¡¯re planning to go to Rat¡¯s home, a place known as paradise, called Sampalo. The reason why they¡¯re going to leave Behala is that it¡¯s dangerous staying in Behala and they don¡¯t need to stay there anymore. While Gardo was away in prison with Olivia, Raphael and Rat went to Senator Zapanta¡¯s house and founded out more information about the letter, the Senator and Jose¡¯ Angelico. They met an old gardener who worked in Senator¡¯s house for a long time, and founded out information about Senator Zapanta and how Jose¡¯ Angelico stole the money. Jose¡¯ Angelico stole the money by using a broken fridge and then dropped it on the graveyard. We still don¡¯t know why he dropped it on the graveyard, which creates suspense. She is okay because she understands what they are trying to do and that it is for a good thing. And she understands that they didn¡¯t lie to hurt people. She just gives them good luck and I think she¡¯ll never forget them, forever. This is morality.

She was persuaded by their excuse about his house and grandfather and was on the way to Colva Prison with Gardo. In next chapter, Father Julliard wrote an important story which was children in Behala can be the best liars in the world just to survive. Also, he says ‘but little Jun… he took my breath away…things are going to get very dangerous indeed’ (page 84) that Raphael and Gardo were brave and smart but Rat has done something wrong and he might do the thing again which might make them dangerous. Inside the prison, Sister Olivia paid a lot of money and her time to meet Gabriel Olondriz who was not Gardo’s grandfather as the boys said, but a person who the boys wanted to deliver a letter from José Angelico. In the prison, what she could see was cages which were just like those in zoo with prisoner even children inside and an old man very near to death, who was Gabriel Olondriz. After having a conversation with him, Sister Olivia, realized that she had been deceived and that the boys were into something really big. On the other hand, Gardo found out that Jose Angelico was one of adopted children of Jerome Dante who was the son of Gabriel Olondriz. Meanwhile, Rat and Raphael sneaked into Senator Zapanta¡¯s house which was so big. They met a gardener and heard about how Jose¡¯ Angelico stole six million dollars and carried it out of the house in a fridge to a graveyard. Senator Zapanta is a fat, rich and surely very powerful man in the country. He siphoned thirty million dollars from the money for poor people. In this part, the author gives mysteries to reader- is the six million dollars the part of the thirty million dollar? Why Jose¡¯ did steal the money? Is it for revenge? The author creates more suspense and mystery by giving little clues about the weather or telling us about the letter that says ‘it is accomplished. Sister Olivia says ‘a freak typhoon coming from the sea’ (page 84) it creates tension because he already mentioned that the typhoon is something extra-ordinary. As he makes the reader curious and wants to ask some questions, we found that some questions are already answered like ‘who is José Angelico? What he did? Who is Gabriel and why is he in the prison for so many years?’ However, some questions are still need to be answered. Like ‘what will rat do as Father Julliard said? Why did José steal the money? Why does he hide the money in the graveyard?’ But also, he made the reader curious by testing our morality ‘Was it ok for Jose to steal money from Zapanta? Was it ok for the boys to deceive and use Sister Olivia even though she was happy to help them? When Sister Olivia was kicked out of the country? fixed but not really different from the first draft

New one..!! It's so confusing n challenging!! Some parts I can't understand it.. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Part 3 of the book starts with Sister Olivia introducing herself and telling us about what Raphael, Gardo and Rat did to her. Sister Olivia is a temporary house-mother at Behala¡¯s Mission School and she works with Father Juilliard. She fell in love with Behala and the dumpsite children, so she couldn¡¯t leave the place and started working there. The three boys lied to Olivia to deliver the letter to Gabriel Olondriz, who is in Colva Prison. Later then, Olivia and Gardo visited the prison and met Gabriel, and they found out lots of information about him, Jose¡¯ Angelico and the Senator. This part is really important because readers find out lots of clues and the mystery gets solved as the reader reads along. An example of a mystery that is solved is the character of Gabriel. Previously, the readers did not know why Gabriel was in prison, so we thought he could be a bad man. But after reading this part when Gabriel meets Olivia and Gardo, it is very clear about why he was in prison and that he wasn¡¯t a bad man. He went to jail for his entire life because he brought corruption charges against Senator Zapanta, thirty-five years ago. He was trying to let people know that the Senator stole about thirty five million dollars from the international aid money and the poor people. Gabriel had evidence to prove it, but Senator Zapanta turned his case and put Gabriel in prison for his whole life. Readers also find out more about Senator Zapanta, who is a Vice-President in Behala. He is rich and wealthy, living in a castle full of windows. He eats a lot so he¡¯s fat, and he wastes a lot. The most important about him is that he is very corrupt and greedy, so he steals lots of money from poor people. Another clue that is revealed is the connection between Senator Zapanta, Jose Angelico and Gabriel Olondriz. The connection between them is that Jose¡¯ and Gabriel tried to prove that Sentaor Zapanta stole the money, but they couldn¡¯t and ended up dying and put in prison for life. Also, Gabriel is Jose¡¯s grandfather. This connection is important because it can flow the story clearly so the readers can understand well (I¡¯m not sure about this¡¦). After, Olivia was banished from the county. Afterwards, Gabriel ended up dying in prison peacefully. While Gardo was away in prison with Olivia, Raphael and Rat went to Senator Zapanta¡¯s house and found out more information about the letter, the Senator and Jose¡¯ Angelico. They met an old gardener who worked in Senator¡¯s house for a long time, and found out information about Senator Zapanta and how Jose¡¯ Angelico stole the money. Jose¡¯ Angelico stole the money by using a broken fridge and then dropped it on the graveyard. We still don¡¯t know why he dropped it on the graveyard, which creates suspense. Also we realize that the three boys were trying to leave Behala with Rat¡¯s money. They¡¯re planning to go to Rat¡¯s home, a place known as paradise, called Sampalo. The reason why they¡¯re going to leave Behala is that it¡¯s dangerous staying in Behala and they don¡¯t need to stay there anymore. The author creates a lot of suspense in part 3, by telling the reader some clues and the solution of the mysteries. The author adds to the mysteries too. For example, the three boys are going to get the bible from the security guard by giving him money. But how will they get the money? Maybe they can steal it or earn it by doing work. Plus, he gives us suspense by telling us about the letter, like ¡°It is accomplished¡± or describing the weather when Olivia says ¡°This was dry season but there was talk of a freak typhoon coming in from the sea¡± (Page 86). This builds tension and suspense, it¡¯s a metaphor for the difficult time the boys will have in future. Also, he makes us think about questions about the next part of the story-questions like ¡°what does the code mean?¡± or ¡°how will the three boys solve the code?¡± or ¡°what will they do to find out the code?¡± The theme of police corruption and dangers of poverty continues in part 3 when Father Juilliard says ¡°Some of our children are the best liars in the world. I guess it is survival¡± (Page 84). This is one of the themes of dangers of poverty, and it means that poor children need to lie to survive, to protect something or to be safe. Another theme is police corruption, when Olivia says ¡°To walk into a prison is a very frightening thing, because you cannot help but think, what if something goes wrong and they won¡¯t let me out?¡±(Page 87). This means that corrupt police can do anything they would like to do at anytime and they¡¯re always dangerous, so people need to beware of them. The last theme is morality, you can see it when Olivia says ¡°Good bye and thank you so much for using me¡± (Page 136). Olivia isn¡¯t angry with the three boys who lied to her, and using her. She is okay because she understands what they are trying to do and that it is for a good thing. And she understands that they didn¡¯t lie to hurt people. She just gives them good luck and I think she¡¯ll never forget them, forever. I think it¡¯s sometimes okay to lie, when you really need to protect something, or to be safe. Lying in a good way is okay, but in a bad way it can hurt or harm other people. An example in this book is that the three boys lied to Olivia to deliver the letter to Gabriel, but this wasn¡¯t a bad lie, it was a good lie, because they didn¡¯t lie to hurt other people.
